Ashley has been teaching since she was in Kindergarten. Little did she know, her dolls would one day become real-life students and the overhead projector her Mom bought her at her small town garage sale would become her students’ interactive whiteboard. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University, she taught Kindergarten and fell in love all over again. She then pursued her graduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin and earned her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
Ashley discovered a new passion during her graduate coursework: teaching teachers. She has enjoyed serving pre-service teachers at The University of Texas at Austin as both a faculty specialist and facilitator. And, in September 2013, Ashley became a mother to her precious son, Jet, who would eventually inspire her to build the best early learning school there is…and, change the world! Ashley’s passion for learning, years of teaching in the early childhood classroom, and collaborative graduate courses at the University of Texas have all undoubtedly equipped her with the knowledge and skills that will make WonderWell successful.
And, Ashley and Jarred welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Saylor, in June 2017, and are enjoying their new family of four (six including their furry babies)!
Born and raised in New Braunfels, Esteban developed his passion for education from his Mother, a first grade dual language elementary school teacher. As a child, he was always wanting to know more about the world around him, always asking questions and exploring the “how” and “why." Coming from a family of educators, he continued to develop his love for learning throughout his life with a focus on reading, arts and science.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, he started with a local school district as the Community Outreach Specialist. After spending a couple of years with the school district, he made the transition over to the Department of Family and Protective Services.
During his tenure with the state, he served as an investigator and inspector for the Child Care Licensing division and worked on over 600 individual cases, ranging from standards violations to illegal operations to abuse and neglect cases. He earned the reputation for being able to handle many of the more difficult and high-profile cases.
Within the department, he was selected to serve on several workgroups, including one that was instrumental in imposing monetary penalties for high risk violations related to infant care.
Esteban is proud to now serve as the Director of Operations and be a part of WonderWell.
